On Tuesday, 4 April 2023, Facebook Messenger announced its latest feature, letting users play multiplayer games together during video calls. This announcement emanates soon after Meta’s verdict to suspend the standalone Facebook gaming application.

However, last year, Facebook slaughtered its Facebook Gaming Platform, switching games and streams to the main application gaming unit. This new multiplayer gaming feature has a minor catalog of 14 games at the inauguration that works on both desktops and smartphones (Android and iOS). Including Facebook supporters such as Werewolves of Silverton, Words with Friends, and Mini Golf FRVR. As well as game titles that are newfangled to the server, like Card Wars and Exploding Kittens.

While not all game titles in Facebook Messenger’s modest lineup will suit all group chats, Exploding Kittens can accommodate up to 5 players. The Words with Family only works with 2 players. But Facebook specifies that it campaigns to augment more games, and this selection is set to cultivate free games later in the year.

Furthermore, the game developers concerned about making their game titles accessible in Messenger are trained to contact their Partner Manager for details on how to add games to the platform.
